I'm Paul Valois. My wife Margaret and I are a husband-and-wife team who are dedicated to helping people who need our help to put them on the road to a financial fresh start.
Both of us were born, raised and have lived all of our lives here in Virginia. Together, we run our firm with a simple priority structure: 1. Do right by our clients. 2. Do right by the dedicated people who work with us. 3. Make enough money to keep the business afloat. In that order. Period.
Yes, we make money - indeed with the bad economy we are all too busy right now. Yes, we like to make money (who doesn't?). But we aren't in business here in Lynchburg because our primary goal in life is to make money.
We each gave up lucrative careers in Northern Virginia and we came here to Lynchburg in 2005 in order to devote ourselves to helping people. We don't represent corporations or partnerships and we don't handle collections because of this commitment.
We know how it feels to be laid off two weeks before Christmas. We know how it feels to have the lights cut off. We know how it feels to have to choose between buying heating oil or groceries when it's 5 degrees outside in January. We know what it's like when the daycare center calls you at the job you can't leave to tell you that your child has a high fever. We know what a new alternator costs after a tow off the interstate. We've been there. Both Margaret and I waited tables during and after college, and either one of us would do it again to put food on the table if necessary (Margaret actually misses waitressing, but I wasn't any good at it).
When you come to our office, you aren't going to find anyone in suits and ties (unless we just came from court). You aren't going to find fancy furniture. Chances are, you are going to run into our kids, or into our employees' kids, passing you in the hall. But when you sit down for your consultation with me or with Margaret, rest assured that you are going to be sitting down with an experienced attorney who is dedicated to making your life better and who will put your interests ahead of legal fees.
