Our Attorneys

Margaret C. Valois M. Paul Valois
Attorney at Law   Attorney at Law

Paul and Margaret graduated from Mary Washington College.  They have been married for more than twenty years and have two teenage sons. They are among a very few attorneys who studied law the in same way Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln did - by studying under the supervision of a practicing attorney before passing the Bar examination.  Both Paul and Margaret completed the rigorous and demanding Law Reader Program administered by the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners.

Margaret worked as an insurance underwriter and trainer, a legal secretary, an office manager and as a paralegal before becoming a member of the Virginia State Bar in 2003.  She is admitted to practice before all Virginia courts, including the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Virginia, and the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Virginia.  Margaret practices primarily in bankruptcy law, and also takes other cases in family law.

Paul was an engineer before he joined the Virginia State Bar in 2006. He is admitted to practice before all the courts of Virginia, including the Supreme Court of Virginia as well as the United States Bankrupycy Court for the Western District of Virginia.  Paul handles criminal and traffic cases in addition to bankruptcy, and is a former Assistant Public Defender.
